With nearly 20 years of hands-on experience in microscopy, I bring together a lifelong passion for imaging with deep technical expertise. From the very beginning of my biology studies, I was fascinated by microscopes – and that fascination has only grown stronger as technology has advanced.

As Head of the Münster Imaging Network – Germany’s largest imaging facility with more than 500 active users and over 60 state-of-the-art microscopes – I have supported countless scientific projects from experiment design and image acquisition to analysis and publication. Along the way, I discovered how much I enjoy helping others unlock the full potential of their imaging data.

My expertise spans all major microscopy platforms and advanced imaging techniques, as well as the latest analysis approaches – from open-source pipelines to cutting-edge AI and deep learning tools. Since 2018, I have also been building a sustainable research data management system based on OMERO together with the central IT of the University of Münster, making me an active part of Germany’s RDM community for microscopy data. I am a task-area lead in the NFDI4BioImage consortium and an active member and co-organizer within German BioImaging (GerBi). Through personalized online courses and consulting, I empower researchers and biotech companies to transform raw images into reliable, reproducible, and publication-ready insights.
